Along the way, when Mikaela wondered aloud why a super-advanced robot turned into a "piece of crap Camaro", a mildly insulted Bumblebee scanned a passing 2009 Camaro, taking on its sleek and shiny form himself. Afterward, Bumblebee-able only to communicate in sound bites broadcast over his radio-properly introduced himself to Sam and Mikaela, and drove them to nearby Griffith Observatory to watch as the other Autobots he had called upon arrived in the sky overhead. Taking refuge at a deserted chemical plant, Bumblebee revealed his robot form to the two humans so he could engage Barricade in combat, eventually knocked the Decepticon out after a brawl. While fleeing this new threat, Sam ran into Mikaela, and Bumblebee then snatched the pair up and drove them away, with Barricade in hot pursuit.
